Description
The New Vaquero family includes both "color-case" blued, stainless steel, and engraved models in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt calibers, with barrel lengths of 4 5/8", 5 1/2", and 7 1/2". Ruger's proprietary "color case" finish replicates the mottled "case hardening" found on older guns to harden their softer steels, which is not necessary with the modern, tough steels used in all Ruger revolvers.
Stainless steel New Vaqueros feature a high-gloss finish, simulating the attractive, but relatively fragile, nickel-plating found on many original revolvers. The Ruger New Vaquero is an entirely new, fixed-sight single action revolver destined to exceed even the legendary performance of the original Ruger Vaquero. It closely resembles the look and feel of classic single action revolvers of the 1800's, but with the most modern internal mechanism and Ruger reliability. The Ruger Vaquero is often referred to as "the gun that won the New West" because of its widespread popularity among single action shooters and cowboy action competitors.
